“I was instantly drawn to the technical challenges and problem-solving aspects of roofing,” James recalls. “There’s a lot more that goes into it than most people realize – not just the physical task of installing shingles, but also designing roof systems to withstand the elements, addressing tricky structural issues, and providing customized solutions for each unique property.”

After graduating, James opted to pursue a career in roofing rather than traditional civil engineering. He spent the next 15 years honing his skills and expertise, working his way up from an entry-level roofer to a highly sought-after project manager. Along the way, he developed a keen eye for craftsmanship, a talent for project management, and a steadfast commitment to safety and quality.

In 2010, James decided it was time to take the next step. He saved up his earnings, secured financing, and launched Austin Roofers Co. with the mission of delivering an unparalleled roofing experience for Austin homeowners and businesses.

“I knew there was a better way to approach roofing,” James explains. “Too often, the industry is focused on cutting corners, maximizing profits, and underselling the true value of professional workmanship. I wanted to create a company that would flip that model on its head – one that puts quality, safety, and customer satisfaction above all else.”
